Day 2 Moving to Georgia

This day was uneventful actually. Thank heavens…it was a long day as they all are driving through Texas..We spent the time counting the carcasses of animals on the side of the road. I know it sounds morbid but it appears Texas has a hard time keeping the deer off the road. We also passed the time discussing the fate of the Suburban.

By days end, his heart was set on a new TRUCK. That was what he was going to do. He had seen so many trucks and they were all running well, where his Suburban was dead. Just to back track, his Suburban had been dead since I met him in 2012. But as any good scientist, he brought it back to life for this excursion because the Jeep was not strong enough to pull the trailer without some distress. His Jeep is his love, ok not his first love…what he went shopping for when he bought the Jeep was a Toyota Tundra but the dealer wouldn’t deal with him, so he bought the Jeep at a different dealer.

Anyway back to the trip, we drove through San Antonio to Kerrville. We got to Kerrville, Tx early. We went to the Home Depot to get another Jeep key made just in case. We also learned you can not start the Jeep with the new key but you can open the door. So, if you lock the only set of keys you can find in the Jeep, which were the set I was carrying when the Suburban went down, we had a key to get in. Whew. Then we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. It was a nice quiet dinner, nothing too eventful. At this point still trying to stay close to no carbs. I had chicken & green beans. I can’t remember but I probably had a baked potato. Then we settled in for a sleepless night..

Some folks do not understand that a hotel is not your home and talking at the top of your voice in the hallway is not appropriate. The worst part is running into them first thing in the morning at breakfast. I gave up no carbs for a couple of those tiny Danish. Ok they were kinda stale.. We get in the elevator with the loud folks, which is how I found out that they were the loud folks from across the hall.  I also learned their life story during breakfast and where they were headed, which thank heavens was the opposite direction from us.. So folks in Apache Junction, AZ look out for the loud Texans . LOL

We load up the cats and all our luggage and we are back on the road again..

So has anyone had any of the loud talkers in the hotel? FYI, not the partiers and Vegas doesn’t count..

Happy Travels,

Kelly
