the spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically in the form of a rounded cap on a stalk, especially one that is believed to be inedible or poisonous.
During December we had many toadstools and mushrooms pop up in our yard and they were all so beautiful. They all came in so many different shades of orange and red and white. They grew to be very large. As they got bigger their color would fade. I tried to take pictures of all of them. Here are a few of my favorite.
I know these are not edible as all the animals leave them alone. We had some white mushrooms but it appears they are edible because the animals ate them all up. We have many varieties in the yard. We have some small brown ones and then there are the ones that look like leaves. If I knew they were edible I would pick them for Roy as he loves mushrooms. I am not a fan of the texture of a cooked mushroom. My Mom always teases me and says my dislike is because of a Sci-Fi movie I saw where if you ate mushrooms you turned into mushroom people. I like to let her think this but I hated them before that.
Here are some more of my pictures:
I took these pictures and I am not a professional photographer and I do not have a fancy camera. Some of these I even took with my phone as I can get a better focus. I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I do. I just love the different colors and the glorious shape of a toadstool. It is rumored that gnomes, smurfs and fairies live under these but I have yet to find any but I will continue to look.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2017 so far and that we all stay hopeful, happy and kind to one another. Blessed days to all.
Love and laughter,Kelly
