Close Quarters has had a few changes, since last I wrote. Roy is home full time now. 2018 was a year of 2 partial knee replacements and lots of recuperation. Roy actually had 3 surgeries. The first was in March to clean up the cartilage he tore in his left knee right after we got home from camping. He was still in pain, so we opted for a partial knee replacement which happened in June. Since he was relying on his right knee which was actually in worse condition then his left and had begun to hurt, we had them do a partial on it in September. It has been a full year since this all started. We have spent more time in the car back and forth to the doctor and physical therapy. We did it so often, I swear I could drive that road half asleep and miss all the pot holes. It was so nice when he could finally drive. I love to drive but I prefer to do it alone, with the music up loud and singing away.

We got the new Samsung S9 phones because my iPhone wouldn’t hold a charge all day. I started taking pictures of dragonflies. Some of them are quite good, if I do say so myself.
We also added a new dog to the mix. She is supposedly lab mix. We think she has dalmatian in her. I let Roy name her and he named her Betty. We were going through names on the way home with her and he said Betty and she responded to it. So Betty it is. She swallows everything she can. Strings, stuffing, golf ball innards, everything. She is now taller then Scarlett. Scarlett is still Alpha but with her right leg being bad, it won’t be long before she lets Betty be big dog.

He is so cute!
I hope to become more disciplined and post once a week of all the new adventures happening around here. Some of the things I have been working on are Suncatchers made with the wood from the beaver dams. Roy has been clearing those daily. I will post his videos of that. I also have been making bags to hopefully sell at the farms market in town, so they can stop using those expensive paper bags. I have also been letting my grey hair grow out, no more bleaching my hair. So far I am 6 months in. That will be another post.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read my post and I hope to have more pictures and stories that will interest and entertain you.
Love & Light, Kelly
