A couple years ago , Roy’s ex Father-in-law, Ted was dying. He was in his late 80s and had had a full life. He had traveled and done as he wanted most his life. I had spent time with Ted 3 or 4 times before his death. Roy loved Ted and respected Ted as a father. It was the only father he had known.

Roy and I were walking around the pond discussing Roy’s trip to Phoenix to see Ted hoping to make it before he died. The news that morning was not good. Roy was looking forward to the trip. He enjoyed being with Ted. Just as we got around the south side of the pond, a yellow butterfly came out of nowhere and I said “There’s Ted” A few minutes later Roy’s daughter called to say that Ted had passed. She had been with him the whole time. Roy was upset that his youngest had been left to deal with her Grandfathers death and that Roy would not be able to tell Ted what he meant to him.

During the week that followed, we had many yellow butterflies come to visit. Roy went to Phoenix and spent time with his kids. He stayed at Ted’s house and Roy said he told Ted how he felt. So it was a nice time. He also got to spend time with the granddaughters.
This last year has been hard on Roy, with his knee surgeries and not recovering back to 100%. I have often asked Ted to visit and sure enough there will be a little yellow butterfly make it’s presence known. It is nice to know that Ted hears my request and is still here for Roy.

Thank you Ted and all angels that make life a little easier for those left behind..
