Our Travels to Georgia

We left Tucson on Saturday Dec. 13, 2014. I am driving the jeep and Roy is driving the Suburban with the trailer in tow. I am behind with my walkie talkie and all primed for a 4 day trip across the south to Georgia. We are 30 miles out of Tucson and the Suburban is getting hot, we pull over at Mescal Rd and let it cool down. I cant believe I already have to pee, we just left Carl’s Jr, where we had our last breakfast with our oldest Daughter. We finally get to Wilcox and Napa Auto Parts and spend who knows how much money and a couple hours, changing the heater hose and a bunch of other parts…5 miles down the road  we are heating up again.  Head back to Tucson, in the pouring rain and drop off the Suburban and trailer at a wonderful friends house, who happens to be a mechanic and head out of town… Back on I-10 and off to New Mexico.

We stopped in Lordsburg for Green Chile stew and a burger.  We made it all the way to Las Cruces for the night.. We were going to stay at Comfort Suites but they are not pet friendly and the woman I spoke with was very rude…so we cancelled and stayed at the La Quinta and where possible that is where we stayed across the country.

Where have you stayed that is pet friendly? Have you ever smuggled your pet into a hotel? If so how did that work out?

Happy travels!

Kelly
